The Ugly and the Beautiful

I’m amazed at what a difference a few strokes can make in a painting. Most of the times around the middle of my painting I feel anxious , and wonder whether it is time to stop and as I squint my eyes to see the technicalities I think should I just start over? But a few scrapes of brush here and there, a few color mixes, merging a few strokes maybe changing the color or value just slightly and here I reach to the opposite end …with a fresh beautiful painting emerging from its ugly stage. How do you agree with this ugly stage ?
